Forman School – Campus Master Plan

Litchfield, CT

Founded in 1930, Forman School is a coeducational college-preparatory boarding and day school with a vital purpose to deliver an unparalleled education for students with learning differences and to empower them to succeed in college and throughout their lives. Forman serves students in grades 9-12 on a 125 acre campus that includes indoor and outdoor facilities with 34 buildings on the main campus.

DRA updated Forman School’s Master Plan focused on priorities that included facilities condition assessment, residential and classroom needs, traffic, and landscape planning.

In partnership with the school, we developed extensive, layered, visionary ( yet practical) options. These initiatives guide campus development in ways that capture and extend the unique character of the programs. Further areas of study focus on dormitory renovation, expansion of academic buildings, and a new center for cognition and learning.
