Performing Arts

Southeastern Performing Arts Center (SPAC)

Southeastern Regional Technical High School, South Easton, MA

Understanding the value of creative and performing arts and a desire to recognize and showcase the different talents of students, the school asked us to develop space to serve the Video & Performing Arts program and be available to the community.

The new 250 seat theater for the existing high school is a thrust stage arrangement within a circular building. It can be used for large and small live performances and concerts, videos and films, assemblies, guest speakers, academic lessons and more.

Students in multiple vocational programs now have the opportunity to use and learn in the space, including those who are interested in aspects of theater aside from performing, such as sound, lighting and rigging.

We worked with Studio T+L, a theater and lighting consultant to create the ideal space within a limited budget. To provide plenty of stage lighting options on the thrust, an extensive pipe grid covers the entire house. Stage lighting power and data are generously distributed throughout the stage, overstage rigging, and throughout the lighting grid.
