In Memoriam – Richard C. Rosane

Richard C. Rosane, a founding partner of Drummey Rosane Anderson (DRA), passed away on March 17, 2017 in Middlebury, VT at the age of 88.

Dick received both his undergraduate degree and his Master of Architecture degree from Harvard University. He served as a Marine artillery officer in Korea during the Korean War. Upon his return he joined the Boston architectural practice of Col. William Drummey, and along with his Harvard classmate David Anderson, formed Drummey Rosane Anderson in 1961.

Dick was a strong leader with clear vision and dedication to his clients. He was responsible for many innovative and significant educational facilities throughout New England.

In retirement in Vermont, Dick remained active – working on local design projects, active in the Weybridge Congregational Church, as a volunteer with the Weybridge Fire Department, and serving as a member of the Weybridge Planning Commission. Dick also continued his involvement with education. He was committed to the Hannaford Career Center of Middlebury which provides technical education to High School and adult students in a variety of careers including architecture.
