DRA Names Three New Principals

We are thrilled to announce that three exceptional leaders have been promoted to Principal at Drummey Rosane Anderson, Inc. (DRA).

Please join us in celebrating:

  • Angel Khazadian, AIA, LEED Green Associate
  • Bonnie Peters, AIA, LEED AP BD+C
  • Sarah Carda, AIA, LEED AP BD+C

These remarkable women have transformed our design practice through their unwavering commitment to project quality, strong client bonds, and contributions to our collaborative workplace culture. Their innovative thinking, practical approach, and genuine passion for improving the built environment have been vital to our growth.

Their expanded roles will include greater involvement in company direction, client relationships, and organizational leadership. We know they will maintain the highest standards of service while nurturing our team spirit.

This advancement celebrates both their individual accomplishments and our organization’s dedication to developing talent and building diverse leadership.

Angel Khazadian, AIA, LEED Green Associate

Angel has been with DRA for seven years and became an Associate Principal in 2023. She joined us with an exceptional portfolio and an approachable attitude. We admire how she balances a tenacious work ethic with a zest for fun.

Angel had wanted to be a doctor, but later in her senior year of high school she became interested in architecture.

She had never met an architect and knew nothing about architecture, but she liked to build and draw so she rolled the dice. It turns out that she has a good eye for scale and design as well as a lot of knowledge about how things go together.

When Angel isn’t putting buildings together, you’ll find her playing or watching softball or attending comedy shows and concerts. If there is a punk rock show in town, that’s where you’ll find her—unless she’s scouring thrift and antique shops for uranium glass. Her fascination with true crime literature and documentaries seems to enhance her approach to the construction administration phase of a project.

Angel has succeeded in her mission to deliver comedy daily and always be herself. She is a straightforward leader and an honest, goal-focused person who earns respect through paying attention, setting clear guidelines, and building real relationships. She mixes warmth and understanding with firm choices and high expectations, making work fun while ensuring success.

Bonnie Peters, AIA, LEED AP BD+C

Bonnie has been an invaluable member of the DRA team for eight years and became an Associate Principal in 2023. She is a highly skilled architect with the ability to see the big picture while deftly managing the details of a project. Her singular focus and collaborative spirit have proven to be a winning combination.

Bonnie wanted to be a writer, but her love of drawing and design landed her in architecture. When she’s not hard at work, you’ll find her traveling, hiking, and going to shows and concerts. Her favorite musical is Wicked.

Bonnie has a collection of postcards from across the country and the world, sent to her over the years from friends and family. They are a reminder of the beauty out there in the world combined with the writer’s perspective of a particular place or experience.

Bonnie has always followed the wisdom of the proverb “It is later than you think” in her daily life as a reminder to appreciate the moment you are in, and to not wait until tomorrow if an opportunity presents itself. We believe this sentiment underscores her focus on proactive, sustainable leadership.

Sarah Carda, AIA, LEED AP BD+C

Sarah has been with DRA for most of her architectural career and became an Associate Principal in 2023. She manages the multitude of project responsibilities with quiet determination and resourcefulness. DRA relies on her managerial skills, problem-solving abilities, and thoughtful perspective.

As a child, Sarah had dreams of being an Olympic speed skater. She didn’t know how to skate, so it’s a good thing that architecture found her. Her love of puzzles that engage the mind and encourage you to see things differently supports her foray into architecture.

We value Sarah’s willingness to confront design issues head on to improve them, give them greater functionality, and quite often add aesthetic appeal.

When not managing multiple deadlines, she finds solace wandering through forests or along beaches, seeking tranquility while collecting nature’s treasures like tiny acorn caps or smooth stones. Sarah revels in the simple things and enjoys indulging in the layers of sound found in musicals.

Sarah understands that architecture isn’t an easy field, that there are obstacles thrown in the path at every step. She believes it is her job to figure out which ones need to be resolved and which ones are a distraction so that she can successfully move the project forward. She stays composed, watches carefully, and follows her values, guiding others through quiet strength rather than loud words.

Please join us in congratulating Angel, Bonnie, and Sarah on this well-deserved recognition. We invite you to celebrate our newest Principals as they help guide DRA toward an exciting tomorrow!
