Public Safety

Middletown Fire Department

Middletown, RI

Work began with a Space Needs Assessment for the Middletown Rhode Island Public Safety Complex, a single building shared by its police and fire departments. A new police station was completed in 2009. We then renovated the existing building to provide three additional double vehicle deep bays, a completely modernized fire fighting facility and a new, 3-story training tower. The new addition added 12,670 SF to the existing 10,654 SF resulting in an area of 23,324 SF for the Fire Department.  Other rooms in the new space include a training room, and a workout/weight room.

The 6,615 SF formerly occupied by the Police Department underwent extensive renovations to house the Public Works Department, Town Engineer, Recycling Coordinator and I.T. personnel. Completed in 2016.
