Silver Lake Regional Middle School
Kingston, MA
The new Silver Lake Regional Middle School is sited next to the existing High School, creating an educational campus and moved the project towards its goal of Sustainable Design. The academic spaces are organized into three two-story clusters, creating six educational teams. This organization, along with four large group areas between the clusters, allows for the team teaching that the District was already employing, along with presentations and group projects. Other unique spaces within the school include a Library/Media Center with access to a landscaped courtyard that functions as an outdoor classroom and an auditorium that seats 350.
