Bellefonte Area High School needed to provide classroom space for additional teachers, but were unable to initiate a major building project. DRA met with school administrators and reviewed proposed classroom assignments looking for patterns of free periods. There were few available for reassignment, because teachers remained in their rooms for planning. The solution came by converting library space into a teacher planning area. The classrooms could then be used for more periods for student instruction. DRA provided a spreadsheet as a scheduling tool, showing the periods scheduled into each classroom per day. Without building an addition, the school was able to accommodate the additional teachers they needed.
