Brackett Elementary School

DRA's work with the Town of Arlington began with an evaluation of the adequacy, structural integrity, and ADA compliance of the existing Brackett School. Based on DRA's recommendations, the Town decided to build a new elementary school at the same site. The new school accommodates 420 students. Design considerations include a library combined with a computer room that collectively became the hub of the school's network and technology center. A cafetorium with a small stage connected to a music room provides flexibility for small-scale productions. Science, art, and music rooms are housed in a 1/4 round cylindrical space to highlight the special programs.
